marionnet.org — a virtual network laboratory

Documentation

The documentation follows the order in which you need it: first installing Marionnet, then using it. The last part is for anyone who wants to build Marionnet or contribute to its development. Preparing and marking labs is covered in the Teaching tab, and driving Marionnet from a script or by an AI in the Scripting and AI tab.

For installation, the quick guide is enough in most cases. The full guide describes each method (apt and dnf repositories, precompiled archive, sources) and the sudo rule that an administrator grants to users: a narrow rule, which lets students create the network devices that Marionnet needs without making them administrators.
